From the month of autumn, new fruits appear on the market stalls. Khaki is one of them. Halfway between a pear and a mango, with a slight vanilla flavor, this round, orange fruit has a very sweet taste that is particularly pleasing. The problem is that it is generally better when its flesh is soft. The latter then almost resembles jam. Please note that if you have chosen a persimmon that is too hard, there is no need to wait days or weeks for it to ripen. There is, in fact, a simple trick to make the flesh tender in just a few hours. We reveal the secret to you in this article.

It was the content creator le.renard.et.les.raisins who shared on Instagram her tip for making persimmons riper quickly. The young woman explains that persimmon is her favorite fruit. When it’s ripe it really has a jam texture, the problem is when she buys them in the store they are usually too hard. What to do? No need to wait weeks for them to become soft. To speed up the process, the content creator says: “I discovered an incredible trick to ripen them in a few hours.” The secret: the freezer.

In fact, just put the persimmons in the freezer for a few hours so that they are well frozen. No need to put them in a box or freezer bag. You can put them as is in your freezer.

When you take them out they are hard, that’s normal. They must then be allowed to thaw at room temperature. Once it’s good, you’ll see: you’ll get ultra-soft persimmons. “It’s really the jam texture that I love.” Conversely, persimmons that have not been frozen retain a texture more like raw apples when they are not ripe enough. They are therefore less sweet and much less pleasant in the mouth. So to properly appreciate your persimmons, you now know what you have to do
