Choose one of the Pretzel dough options and try this delicious option for an afternoon snack. The kids will love it!
Ingredients 1st Option Pasta
- 500 grams of wheat flour
- 15 grams of biological yeast (dry)
- ½ cup (tea) sugar
- 1 tablespoon of butter
- 2 eggs
- 1 teaspoon of salt
- 1 teaspoon of butter essence
- 250 ml of water
Ingredients 2nd Option Dough
- 4 cups (tea) of wheat flour
- 6 tablespoons of butter
- 1 and ½ tablets of fresh organic yeast
- 3 tablespoons of sugar
- 1 cup of milk (tea)
- 1 ovo
Coverage Ingredients for the 2 Pasta Options
- 300 grams of refined sugar
- 150 grams of butter
- 1 tablespoon of cinnamon powder
Preparation Method 1st Option Dough
- In the mixer, place the flour, sugar, butter, yeast, eggs, salt and essence.
- Beat for a few minutes until you get a crumb consistency.
- Add the water and beat some more.
- Pour onto a smooth, clean surface. Knead the dough.
- Place the dough in a plastic bag and refrigerate for 15 minutes.
- Roll out the dough to 5 mm thick and 40 cm long.
- Cut strips of 2cm each.
- Preheat the oven to 180ºC.
- Roll the dough onto the table and roll it up.
- Fold the dough leaving the ends loose and down, like a tie.
- Pass the right tip inside the circle and underneath. Repeat on the other side.
- Let it rest for approximately 1 hour, before baking in an ungreased pan.
- Bake for approximately 10 minutes.
- For the topping: Melt the butter.
- Mix the sugar with the cinnamon.
- Once baked, spread the butter over the cookies and sprinkle with the sugar mixture.
Preparation Method 2nd Dough Option
- Grease a large baking tray and preheat the oven to 180ºC.
- In a bowl, crumble the yeast and sprinkle with 1 tablespoon of sugar.
- Mix well with a spoon until the yeast dissolves.
- Add the remaining sugar, milk, egg and butter. Stir well.
- Add the flour little by little, mixing and kneading the dough.
- Cover and let rest until doubled in volume.
- Remove small portions of the dough and shape the cookies by placing them on the baking sheet.
- Bake for approximately 15 minutes or until golden.
- After baking, add the topping.
Mom Tips
Approximate yield of 550 grams for the 1st pasta option and 20 units for the 2nd pasta option.
Do not substitute butter for margarine.
If you prefer, add 100 grams of chocolate sprinkles to the topping ingredients.
