O The stabbing that took the lives of three children in Southport, one of whom was Portuguese, is generating protests in the United Kingdom. The situation was ‘ignited’ by false information about the attacker, which caused members of far-right groups to take to the streets in protest.
The issue is false information that the attacker was in a shelter for immigrants.
Tensions had already risen on Tuesday when a vigil was held for children in Southport, where the attack took place. Violent disturbances erupted after the event, and 40 police officers were injured.
On Wednesday, the protests spread to London. It is worth noting that the suspect in the attack, who was arrested, was born in Cardiff, Wales.
There are even images of protesters, outraged by this attack, ‘at the door’ of the official residence of the Prime Minister, Keir Starmer.
In Downing Street, protesters threw glass bottles at authorities, and there are more violent images, such as the ones you can see here.
Far-right groups have chanted phrases such as “save our children” and “stop the boats”.
