Ingredients

  • 3 large peaches
  • 180 ml white wine
  • 1 cup (tea) of sugar
  • ½ teaspoon lemon peel pieces
  • 1 cinnamon stick

Preparation Mode

  1. Using a knife, score the skin of the peaches.
  2. Microwave on high power for 2 minutes.
  3. Peel, cut in half, remove the seeds and set aside.
  4. In a bowl, place the wine, sugar, cinnamon and lemon peels.
  5. Microwave on high power for 3 minutes.
  6. Place the peaches in the syrup with the cavity facing up.
  7. Microwave on medium power for 5 minutes.
  8. Turn the peaches halfway through.
  9. Remove the fruit, place in a compote dish and keep the syrup in the bowl.
  10. Remove the cinnamon and lemon peel and microwave only the syrup on high power for 3 minutes or until thickened.
  11. Pour the syrup over the peaches and let cool.
  12. Serve.

Mom’s Tips

When buying, choose peaches with firm but not hard skin. Choose those that are slightly soft when pressed with your fingers.

Another way to remove the peach skin: dip it in boiling water for 15 seconds and, using a very sharp knife, remove the skin.
