This decision derives, according to the chancellor, from having accepted a request made by Turkey for both countries in conflict to sit down to talk about peace and reach agreements, more than 32 months after the Russian invasion began. In fact, the Turkish president, Tayyip ErdoÄan, offered his country’s capital to carry out these approaches.

“We presented Turkey’s request to the Russian Foreign Minister, Sergei Lavrov, to sit down for peace talks with Ukraine,” said the Colombian minister.
Murillo added that, in a conversation with the aforementioned minister, he had given him authorization to make the announcement of will for peace by the nation led by Vladimir Putin.
Minister Lavrov responded to me that they were ready, that they authorized me to say it publicly, to sit down with Ukraine to talk about peace. And I believe that this is a great achievement of Colombian diplomacy under the instructions of President Petro.

What are the conditions that Russia has imposed to negotiate peace with Ukraine?
According to information cited by the EFE news agency, Russia is open to entering into peace negotiations with Ukraine based on the “current reality on the ground” and in the extent to which this last nation “stops being a tool in the hand of other countries”said the Russian ambassador to the United Nations in Geneva, Gennady Gatilov, on Thursday.
The above derives from the constant opposition that Russia has expressed regarding a possible annexation of Ukraine to NATO, as it sees it as a threat.
