A The wife of a Russian soldier challenged the Russian president to bring her husband home in a gesture that SkyNews says is rare.
Maria Andreyeva begins by stating that she has not noticed any concern on the part of the authorities in responding to the concerns of the wives of the Russian military.
“Vladimir Vladimirovich Putin decreed that my husband had to be there (in Ukraine). I’m interested to know when he will decree that he has to be at home”he states.
Following her demands, another woman reminded her that Russian soldiers in Ukraine were defending their homeland and that she should pray for them, which triggered an intense exchange between the two.
“What’s next? The Ministry of Defense spent its money, now we have to squeeze everything out of our men, take their last life? So that they come back to us just as stumps?”, replied Andreyeva, further questioning how they will return: “without legs? arms? sick?”.
The exchange of views took place during a visit to Putin’s electoral base by a small delegation from ‘The Way Home’, an organization of soldiers’ wives who are campaigning for his return, explains SkyNews.
