The product affected by this recall is the family-friendly Mont d’Or AOP Badoz Chaud. This cheese was marketed between 10/28/2024 and 10/29/2024 and should be stored in the refrigerator. It bears the health mark FR-25-462-002-CE. Affected distributors include Carrefour, Auchan, Scapalsace, Cora, CSD, Leclerc, Intermarché, Promocash, Relais Dis, Super U, France Frais, Dupont kaasimport, Schiever, Valserine, and Salad2fruit.

The reason for the recall is possible salmonella contamination. Salmonella causes salmonellosis, a foodborne infection that can cause gastrointestinal upset such as diarrhea, vomiting, fever and headache. These symptoms usually appear between 6 hours and 72 hours after consumption of the contaminated product.

Those most at risk are young children, pregnant women, immunocompromised people and the elderly. If you have consumed this product and present these symptoms, it is advisable to consult a doctor, mentioning this consumption.

Consumers are invited to no longer consume this product and destroy it. If cooked before consumption, cooking thoroughly at +65°C can destroy bacteria and prevent risks.

Consumers can get a refund by returning the product to the point of sale. The recall procedure is in effect until Saturday December 21, 2024.
