At least 10 people were injured in a mass shooting that occurred Wednesday night in the vicinity of a nightclub in the New York borough of Queensreported sources from the New York Police Department.
The shooting began near the ‘Amazura’ nightclub shortly before 11:20 p.m. (local time), according to police and other sources consulted by The New York Post.

The victims were taken to area hospitals, including Long Island Jewish Hospital and Cohen Children’s Medical Center, according to sources.
None of the victims are in critical condition. and they are all expected to survive, according to the New York Police Department, which has not specified the causes that led to the event.
Sources familiar with the investigation said that a private party was being held inside the club at the time of the shooting, according to local media AMNY.
Apparently, The event was in honor of a well-known gang member in the community murdered last Octoberwhose birthday coincided with New Year’s Day.

According to police sources, when about 80 people gathered in front of the Amazura waiting to enter on Wednesday night, two or three men who were walking down the street approached and began shooting indiscriminately at the crowd, adds the New York media.
Was it a terrorist attack?
The shooting “was not a terrorist attack,” the New York Police Department (NYPD) reported. Police officers received multiple 911 calls around 11:18 p.m. local time Wednesday about “several people” shot and wounded at a private event. Police said around 90 people were inside the club where a party was taking place.
Between three and four men walked towards the location and opened fire more than 30 times in the direction of a group of people who were lining up outside the event, hitting several vehicles, Fox News reported.
The alleged perpetrators of the events later fled in a vehicle.
