NOn the 15th, the prime minister was shot while greeting his supporters after a government meeting in Handlova, a city in central Slovakia.
After days of operations, the prime minister was today transported by emergency helicopter from Banska Bystrica hospital to St Michael’s hospital, which is located in the country’s capital.
“The prime minister was subjected to new checks today, which confirmed the positive evolution of his health condition”, revealed in a statement the RD Roosevelt university hospital in Banska Bystrica, where the minister was previously.
Robert Fico suffered gunshot wounds to his small intestine but is now able to feed himself, said Deputy Prime Minister Robert Kalinak.
The attacker, a 71-year-old man who disagreed with the government’s measures, shot the politician after a meeting of the council of ministers.
Following the attack, the attacker was arrested, but days later he was transferred to a psychiatric center.
