Ingredients

  • 1 kg of beef or veal
  • ½ glass of dry white wine
  • 4 thick slices of ham
  • 1 bunch of spinach
  • 50 grams of margarine or butter
  • 4 tablespoons of oil
  • 3 eggs
  • Salt to taste

Preparation Mode

  1. Clean the spinach.
  2. In a pan without watercook for approximately 10 minutes, the spinach wet.
  3. Season with salt.
  4. Drain the spinach and let it cool a little.
  5. Squeeze it very well and cut it into medium pieces.
  6. Cook the eggs in boiling water for 10 minutes, peel them and set them aside.
  7. Buy the meat in a single slice and beat it so that it becomes a large steak,

Assembling the Swiss Roll

  1. Preheat the oven to 200ºC.
  2. Grease a baking dish with oil and butter and set aside.
  3. Arrange the spinach over the meat.
  4. Cover with the ham slices.
  5. Place the eggs one after the other, lengthwise.
  6. Roll it up like a Swiss roll, tie it with string and seal the ends tightly.
  7. Place the Swiss roll in the baking dish and sprinkle it with a little salt.
  8. Sprinkle it with wine and ½ cup (tea) of boiling water.
  9. Bake in the oven for approximately 2 hours.
  10. Every 30 minutes, turn the roulade, spraying it with wine, ½ cup (tea) of boiling water and the sauce that formed in the baking dish.

Mom’s Tips

Serve with baked potatoes or bananas.

Serve with a refreshing salad.

Do not cut the Swiss roll as soon as it comes out of the oven, let it cool a little so that when you cut it, the slices will be more uniform.
