In the afternoon hours of this March 28, 2024, Holy Thursday, a strong earthquake was recorded in Venezuela, felt in the states of Lara, Yaracuy and Portuguesa. The magnitude of the seismic event reached Colombia, being experienced by inhabitants of Cúcuta, Bucaramanga and even Bogotá.
According to the Colombian Geological Service, The earthquake in Venezuela occurred at 6:23 p.m. The earthquake had a magnitude of 5.2 and a depth of less than 30 km.
The epicenter of the earthquake in Venezuela was the city of El Tocuyo, in the state of Lara.
People in Norte de Santander, Santander and Bogotá, in Colombia, claimed to have felt the earthquake.
