Super Typhoon Yagi caused at least three deaths in Vietnam on Saturday, after passing through the Chinese island of Hainan, where left two dead and 92 injured, reported a state media outlet in the Asian country.

The storm made landfall in the Vietnamese provinces of Hai Phong and Quang Ninh, with winds exceeding 149 km/h, reported Vietnam’s national center for hydrometeorological prediction.
In Quang Ninh, where the roofs of houses were torn off, Three people died, emergency services said.
Another man died on Friday in Hai Duong province after a tree fell. More than a dozen people are missing.
Super Typhoon Yagi wreaked havoc in China
In China, the storm hit “Hainan with heavy rains and gusts of wind, leaving at least two dead and 92 injured,” state news agency Xinhua reported, citing local authorities.
State broadcaster CCTV said the typhoon It brought winds of more than 230 km/h that uprooted trees and led to the evacuation of some 460,000 people on the island.
Yagi made landfall last Friday in Hainan, a popular holiday destination for Chinese tourists.
Its authorities have ordered the closure of its main airport in the city of Haikou until 3:00 p.m. (07:00 GMT) on Saturday, CCTV reported.
In the neighboring province of Canton, the most populous in China, the typhoon caused the evacuation of more than 574,000 residents to safer locations.
Earlier this week, the cyclone killed at least 13 people in the Philippines, where it arrived still at tropical storm level, before increasing in intensity on its way to China.
The storm is now expected to move towards northern Vietnam, where it is expected to hit the famous Halong Bay, a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
