“The president made it clear that the conditions are well known. Now it is said that the Westerners are willing to promise the opening of SWIFT to a branch of Rosselkhozbank. The fact is that the agreements say that SWIFT must be opened to Rosselkhozbank and not to the branch”, highlighted presidential spokesman Dmitry Peskov.
And he continued: “Of course we are talking about the need to return to the foundations of the agreements that initially existed […]”.
Peskov recalled that as soon as the conditions are met for Russia to be able to export its cereals and fertilizers without hindrance, the country’s participation in the cereal agreement will be resumed, in which Ukraine exported its cereals through the Black Sea.
“Given that many promises have already been made, we consider that we have the right and obligation to first wait for them to be fulfilled and then resume this agreement”, from which Russia withdrew last July, he said.
