On the highway between the municipalities of Paragominas and Ulianópolis, in northern Brazil, a serious accident was recorded where a tanker truck carrying gas exploded. The incident occurred on Wednesday, July 3.

According to Fuerza Informativa Azteca, the driver of the vehicle previously reported that he had suffered an accident in the state of Pará, so he had decided to pull over and drive away, due to the risk of explosion.

Minutes later, the tanker caught fire and exploded as reporters were covering the news.
Due to the magnitude of the incident, three military firefighters were injured and the three people from the SBT Paragominas media outlet, who were covering the news, also had to receive medical attention.
The firefighters were taken to the Paragominas Regional Hospital. They reportedly suffered first-degree burns, thanks to the fact that they were wearing protective equipment.
The last three injured have been identified as reporter Alan Nelis, cameraman Wellington Moura and driver Márcio Lopes. They are out of danger.
STB Paragominas thanked viewers for their concern towards the members of its channel. It also stressed that during the incident The news team was 300 or 400 meters from the tanker truck.
