If you have any watermelon left over, don’t throw it away! Make a refreshing cocktail by blending 200g of flesh, then adding the juice of 1 lemon, 2 tablespoons of cane syrup, 40cl of sparkling water, a few mint leaves and a good dose of ice cubes. After a few minutes of preparation, you have an original and thirst-quenching drink that is ideal for sipping with your feet in the water!

The flesh of the watermelon is not the only piece to reuse. You can also save the skin from the trash by making a delicious jam! To do this, nothing could be simpler! Start by making a syrup by melting 200 g of sugar in a little water in a saucepan. Once the syrup is ready, add the watermelon skin previously cut into strips. Add the zest of a lemon and cook for the time, covered, and over low heat, for 1 hour. You should obtain a jelly. Mix everything, then put it back to cook for about thirty minutes. Then pour the preparation into airtight jars, close them, turn them over and let them cool. You can then store them for several months, in a dry place protected from light.
