The Argentine police arrested Braian Paiz this Friday, one of the five accused in the case of the death of British singer Liam Payne. Paiz, 24, is accused of delivering cocaine to the former member of the band One Direction two days before his tragic fall from the third floor of his hotel room in Buenos Aires.

Paiz’s house, located in the town of Budge, in the province of Buenos Aires, was raided by the police, and the detainee was taken to court. According to prosecutors, Paiz visited Payne at his hotel on Oct. 14 and stayed in his room for nearly five hours. In a statement, prosecutors said Paiz delivered cocaine to Payne during that visit.

The prosecution has determined that the three accused of manslaughter are Liam Payne’s Argentine representative, the hotel manager and the hotel’s front desk manager, on whom an embargo of 50 million pesos (approximately $48,000) was imposed. However, the names of these three defendants have not been publicly disclosed.

On the other hand, Paiz, along with a hotel employeel, was prosecuted for supplying narcotics, a crime that carries penalties ranging from 4 to 15 years in prison.. Responsibilities and omissions

In the case of Payne’s representative, Judge Bruniard considered that there is criminal responsibility for the singer’s death due to actions and omissions that culminated in Payne’s fall from the balcony of his room. The judge also prosecuted the manager and the hotel receptionist, who, according to the statementthey saw that Payne could not stand due to substance use and yet they allowed him to be taken to his room.
