Sebin officials raided the home of Biagio Pilieri, National Coordinator of Convergence in Venezuela, opponent who was captured on August 28 with his son, although the latter was released at night after a chase while leaving an opposition rally.

Also, in the early hours of August 29, María Corina Machado’s lawyer, Perkins Rocha, who was detained two days earlier, was taken to court. The charges against him have not been revealed and he has been assigned a public defense attorney instead of being allowed a private one.

When the opposition rally ended on August 28, Pilieri accompanied María Corina Machado on the truck, but he got on with her Juan Pablo Guanipa, former first vice president of the National Assembly of Venezuela, in two vehicles and were followed by the Sebin in unmarked cars.

Venezuelan opposition leader Maria Corina Machado repudiated this Wednesday the arrest of the coordinator of the Convergencia Party, Biagio Pilieri, after participating in a demonstration in Caracas in rejection of the Supreme Court ruling that validated the controversial re-election of Nicolás Maduro in the presidential elections.

The Command with Venezuela, the campaign team of the flag bearer of the majority opposition coalition, Edmundo González Urrutia, shared videos in X of the vehicles that, allegedly, were chasing Pilieri, as well as the leader Juan Pablo Guanipa, who published on the social network that he left “freed from an attempted arrest”.
