According to information from local media, his identification was found near a convoy that was transporting weapons across the border and that was attacked by the Rapid Support Forces (FAR) in Darfur, western Sudan.

In the images shared by the Sudanese soldiers you can see the passport, the identification card, an identification of a second corporal from the Circle of Non-Commissioned Officers of the Army and, even, a SITP card that belong to Lombana, 33 years old, who is a native of Palestine, municipality of Huila.
Also, there is an emotional letter that says: “You are my super dad, I love you with all my soul, you are very special to me, I ask God to give me the joy of continuing to share with you. “In my mom and me you can always find a family.”
According to his LinkedIn information, Lombana was studying Telecommunications Engineering at the National Open and Distance University, and would graduate the next year.. Also, he had experience in customer service and security.
Photos of the retired corporal in Dubai (United Arab Emirates) were evident on social networks, days before his alleged death was reported, which still remains a mystery.

Former soldiers killed in Sudan
His death would be related to the case of several former Colombian soldiers who, according to their relatives, told the magazine Week, They died in the middle of the civil war in Sudan, after apparently arriving in that country through an agency called Service Agency SAS.which offers employment in fields such as cybersecurity, personnel escort, and drone pilot.
This company is described on its website as “a private transnational employment management and placement agency.” On the portal, they say they offer salaries of between 2,500 and 3,000 dollars, with accommodation, transportation and health guaranteed.
“I don’t know if he was going on public order missions, fighting or in a combat with explosives or if something was thrown at them. (…) “They told us that he had died in an accident, but they gave us more information.”a relative of one of the former soldiers told Semana.
Local media claim that these people would be collaborating with the Rapid Support Forces (FAR) militia, a Sudanese paramilitary organization that, since April 2023, has been fighting a civil war with the Sudanese Armed Forces (FAS). More than 14,000 people have died in this conflict and more than 10 million have been displaced from their homes.
