Tragedy in Peru: a giant rock falls on a vehicle and three occupants are crushed to death

On December 2, 2024, a terrible accident occurred on a road on the Central Highway, in the Cacray sector, Huarochirí province, in Peru. A rock fell on a truck, leaving the occupants of the vehicle dead.

The X account @AlertaNews24 shared the video. In this one you can see a parked van and, behind it, a white van with a plate.

Both vehicles were parked on the side of the road, which was not very busy. From time to time some vehicles were seen passing on the opposite road, until tragedy occurred.

In the images it is possible to identify that There are four people inside the damaged truck. Apparently they were talking. This incident occurred at kilometer 98.

A gigantic rock appeared out of nowhere and impacted the entire half of the vehicle. Due to its weight and speed, the truck ended up overturned on the road.

At that moment, the van that was in front of the vehicle moved forward and tried to move aside to prevent another rock from falling that would end up hitting it.

The National Police of Peru, cited by the media La Vanguardia, explained that this accident occurred because a rock fell from the hill, which caused it to end up crushing the cabin of the truck.

It is known that three of the four occupants of the truck died. The only person who survived was the driver, who was taken to the Matucana hospital.

So far it is known that the vehicle had the license plate BZG – 721 and that it was registered to the company Jungle Fresh Organic SAC. It is believed that the three people who died were foreign nationals.
