To remove this little jagged skin, all you need to do is find the weak point in the hull. And this would be located at the level of the stem, at the top of the fruit. Then simply exert light pressure with your fingers to crack it and then be able to remove it easily. If you’re not at home and don’t want to get your hands dirty, the easiest way is to get a paring knife. All you have to do is make a cut and peel the skin which should offer no resistance. All you have to do is enjoy delicious lychees.

To benefit from all its nutrients and a very sweet and slightly tangy taste, it is important to know how to choose your lychees carefully. The fruits should be the size of your thumb, and have a bright pink, slightly yellow skin. You will find them around late spring and into fall. You can also smell your fruit: a floral note should escape. Finally, you can feel the fruit: it must be soft enough to be ripe. However, avoid them being too soft.
