A White House spokesperson shared with Noticias Caracol a statement clarifying the recent statements made by the President of the United States, Joe Biden, regarding the elections in Venezuela.

For the majority of the Venezuelan people, for the United States and for an increasing number of countries, Edmundo González Urrutia was the candidate with the most votes,” the document says.

The statement also notes: the willingness of the US government to demand respect for the decisions taken by the people of Venezuela, pushing for talks to begin on a transition that would allow a return to Democratic norms.
