Woman was killed for trying to defend her husband from a robbery outside their apartment

A woman living in New York’s Chinatown was shot in the face while trying to defend her husband from a pair of men who were trying to assault him. Neighbors expressed their concern for security in the area, as well as expressing their condolences to the affected family.

Woman tried to attack robbers with a stick

Ying Zhu Liu, A Chinatown, New York resident was shot while trying to defend her family from a robbery.

Police reports broadcast by CBS specified that The victim’s husband was followed to his building by a couple of men who got into the elevator with him and tried to rob him.. Outside the building, his eldest son was waiting for him. Upon seeing the scene, he tried to intervene, but ended up being hit with a pistol.

Neighbors heard the dispute and called authorities, but did not come out during the fight for fear of being shot.

“I’m in shock. It’s devastating. It’s horrible. You never imagine that something like this can happen so close to you.“, commented one of the neighbors of the community, which is quite small and everyone knows each other.

“They are very good people and once again we are very sorry for what happened,” added another resident.

At the moment, the authorities are looking for two hooded men who, in addition to killing the woman, also managed to steal her husband’s cell phone.
