It all started with a family celebration at the hotel. However, Aliyah disappeared from the sight of her loved ones, sparking a frantic search. Desperate, Daniela Jaico Ahumada, the girl’s mother, called the police to report her daughter’s disappearance.
The Texas Police requested the assistance of the Texas EquuSearch agency and the state Department of Justice to proceed with the search for the minor. Hours later, after reviewing the hotel pool cameras, authorities found Aliyah’s body in a pool duct.
“Aliyah was violently sucked into a 12- to 16-inch pipe from the pool’s drainage system,” indicated the police report.
Daniela dedicated a heartfelt message to her daughter after the tragedy: “They say that we all have our destiny marked, but I can’t understand why yours was like that. Thank you, my love, for the 8 years you gave us by your side.”
He added: “I am going to love you for all eternity. You are the most beautiful thing that God has given me and after every battle we went through together, we did not win this one. Rest in peace, my beautiful girl. Forever you”.

The authorities carried out an inspection of the Double Tree Hotel pool and found that its pipe was not working properly, because instead of expelling water it was sucking the liquid.
Lawyers for the mother of the 8-year-old girl are asking for one million dollars as compensation for the loss of the minor.
