O French President Emmanuel Macron thanked the United States (USA) this Saturday for all its support for Ukraine. “Thank you, once again, for standing with Europe,” Macron said to US President Joe Biden.
During a joint press conference with Biden, Macron assured that France and the US have “a common vision”. “We made many joint decisions”, he assured. The French president reiterated that it is “important to support Ukraine in defending itself from the invaders.”
Regarding the conflict in the Middle East, Macron assured that France wants the “immediate freedom of the hostages” and welcomed the release of the four Israelis who, this Saturday, were freed by Israeli troops. “We would like to see an immediate ceasefire and through political negotiations create a lasting peace,” he said.
Macron reiterated that the situation in Rafah “is unsustainable” and that it is “intolerable that Israel does not open the crossing bridges for the entry of humanitarian aid.”
French President Emmanuel Macron, accompanied by his wife Brigitte, received Joe Biden and his wife, Jill, at the Arc de Triomphe in Paris this Saturday, at the beginning of the United States president’s state visit.
It should be noted that the North American leader has been in France since Wednesday. On Friday, the presidents of these two countries met with their Ukrainian counterpart, Volodymyr Zelensky, who was also in France for the D-Day celebrations.
