And our families. We want to join forces in the European Parliament and we will proudly join the Patriots for Europe.”wrote Wilders in a message on the social network X.
The PVV will thus join the six seats it won in the European elections to the initiative of Orbán, the Austrian FPÖ and the Czech ANO to form a new group in the European Parliament, which the Spanish Vox and the Portuguese far-right Chega have also announced their intention to join.
With this new membership, Patriots for Europe now has 37 MEPs, leaving them one party from an EU country short of reaching the seven member states needed to formally become a group.
However, we can absorb another 43 MEPs from the Identity and Democracy group, doomed to disappear and be replaced by Orbán’s initiative.
