Homemade recipes are always a hit! Try this orange dessert!
Ingredients Dough
- 2 cups (tea) of wheat flour
- ¾ cup (tea) of sugar
- ¾ cup (tea) of butter
- 1 pinch of salt
- 1 ovo
Ingredients Cream
- ¼ liter of milk
- 3 tablespoons of wheat flour
- ½ cup (tea) of sugar
- 2 beaten eggs
Other Ingredients
- 4 large oranges
- 5 tablespoons of sugar
- 4 tablespoons warmed apricot jam (optional)
- 1 tablespoon rum
- 1 tablespoon Grand Marnier liqueur
Dough Preparation Method
- Mix the butter with the sugar until it resembles crumbs.
- Add the wheat flour, salt and egg.
- Work the dough with your hands until it is smooth.
- Let it rest for 30 minutes.
- Roll out the dough to a thickness of 1 cm.
- Using the dough, line the bottom and sides of a round pan.
- Prick the bottom of the dough with a fork and bake for about 15 minutes.
Cream Preparation Method
- Boil the milk with the sugar and pour it, while still boiling, over the beaten eggs and flour.
- Return to heat until thickened. Remove from heat.
Cake Preparation Mode
- Mix the liqueur with the rum and set aside.
- Remove the zest from an orange and set aside.
- Peel the oranges and cut them into thin slices. Set aside.
- Remove the semi-baked dough from the oven and spread a layer of cream.
- Return to the oven until cooking is complete.
- In the rest of the cream, add the orange zest and mix.
- Spread a layer of orange slices over the dough with the cream and cover with the remaining cream, smoothing it out well.
- Arrange the remaining orange slices and sprinkle the sugar on top.
- In a ladle, place the reserved drink mixture and heat it on the gas flame.

- Brush with warmed apricot jam.

Mom’s Tips
* To give a special flavor to the recipe, the flambé technique is used. Be careful when flambéing: be careful with the fire, which can cause accidents.
