Zelensky rules out negotiations with Putin. “I won’t talk to him”

Dfter meeting with US senators, the president of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelensky, once again refused to negotiate with his Russian counterpart, Vladimir Putin, this Thursday.

When asked by journalists about the possibility of having a message for the Russian president, the Ukrainian head of state was adamant: “I won’t speak to him”, quotes NBC News.

For his part, the majority leader in the United States Senate, Chuck Schumer, summarized the Ukrainian president’s words to the senators with a single sentence. According to the Democrat, the head of state of Ukraine said that if his country does not receive help from the United States, it will lose the war against Russia.

“There was a single sentence that summed it all up, and I’ll quote it: ‘If we don’t get the help, we will lose the war,” he said, according to Sky News.

Later, Zelensky used the social network X (formerly Twitter) to summarize the conversations he had with North American leaders, thanking them for all their “support for Ukraine”.

“We have achieved much to safeguard democracy, freedom and dignity – values ​​shared by both our nations. The Ukrainian people have suffered immensely as a result of Russian war crimes, but we have liberated more than half of the occupied territory from the Russian invaders and can clearly see that victory is getting closer,” he wrote.

And he concluded: “During the meeting, we discussed the battlefield situation and priority defense needs, including air defense. I emphasized that a Ukrainian victory will ensure that neither Russia nor any other dictatorship will destabilize the free world again. To win, we must all be together and work together.”

Meanwhile, White House National Security Advisor Jake Sullivan announced that US President Joe Biden will announce a new military aid package for Ukraine on Friday.

According to the official, the package will include air defense systems and other weapons to help Kyiv before the arrival of winter.

The value and full extent of the package have not yet been disclosed.

It is recalled that Zelensky was in Washington on December 21 last year, 10 months after Russia invaded Ukraine, in what was his first trip abroad since the start of the war.
