DAfter it was announced that more than 30 people are running for the next presidential elections in Russia, the Kremlin reacted, considering that it is “natural for people to declare their political ambitions”. However, he left the caveat that not all of them are “realizable”.
“This is an election campaign and it is natural for people to declare their political ambitions. Some of them are achievable and others are not, some people are able to participate in the race, that right is enshrined in the Constitution along with the conditions for being nominated . People are acting on this basis,” said Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov, quoted by Russian state agency TASS, on Tuesday.
This reaction came after the chairman of the Central Election Commission, Ella Pamfilova, revealed that more than 30 people had been nominated as presidential candidates.
Remember that elections in the country will take place between March 15th and 17th, 2024 and the territories occupied by Russia in the east and south of Ukraine will also participate in the vote. It is the first three-day presidential election in Russia.
