IIsrael lost, in the last few hours, 24 soldiers, in what would have been the deadliest attack against Israeli soldiers during the three-month war against the Palestinian Islamist group Hamas.
“An unbearably difficult morning, when more and more names of the best of our children – the silver platter in the full sense of the word – are added to the hero’s tombstone, in a war that has no justice”wrote the Israeli president, in a post on Twitter, in which he regrets the losses suffered.
Remember that Soldiers were preparing explosives to demolish two buildings on Monday when a militant used a grenade launcher against a nearby tank, causing the explosives to explode prematurely. The buildings ended up collapsing with the soldiers inside.
“Behind every name there is a family whose world has fallen, a family that we carry in our hearts with sadness and painand at the same time with pride, for the heroism of the generation, for the missions and the evils, for remaining faithful to the objective and for the love of the people and the country”, continued Isaac Herzog.
An unbearably difficult morning, in which more and more names of the best of our sons – the silver tray in the full sense of the word – are added to the hero’s tombstone, in a war that has no justice.
Behind every name is a family whose world has fallen on one, a family that we embrace to our hearts with grief and pain, and at the same time with pride – for the heroism of the generation, for the mission and the bad, for sticking to the goal…
