“We don’t know if the authorities will interfere so that the funeral takes place as the family wants and as Alexei deserves.“, adds the statement, noting that more news will be released as soon as possible.

It should be remembered that for more than a week, Liudmila Navalnaya, the mother of the dead opposition leader, had been trying to recover the remains of her son, who died on February 16 in a prison in a remote region of the Arctic, where Navalny was being held.
According to Navalny’s mother, the authorities imposed the condition that the burial would be secret. According to observers, the Kremlin fears that the funeral will become a public event, especially as Russia is due to hold presidential elections in mid-March, in which Vladimir Putin is expected to triumph again.
“They tortured him when he was alive and now they torture him after he died,” said Liudmila Navalnaya.
The Russian president did not react to the death of his main critic, who was serving a 19-year prison sentence and had survived poisoning.
Since the invasion of Ukraine two years ago, the Kremlin has increased repression against all its critics.
