The aperitif is often synonymous with fatty and overly salty snacks. Indeed, it’s difficult to resist the call for a slice of sausage or a crispy chip. Fortunately, there are healthier alternatives to treat yourself without disrupting your body.

Even better than peanuts, roasted chickpeas have it all. Discover the super-easy and quick recipe to make them at home. The result is stunning !

To make this recipe for 4 people, you will need:

  • 1 can of chickpeas
  • ½ tsp. to s. olive oil
  • Paprika
  • Curry
  • Cumin
  • Sel or fin
  • Pepper

  1. Drain the chickpeas then pour them into a bowl.
  2. Cover them with olive oil and add the spices of your choice. Here, we recommend a mixture of paprika, curry and cumin.
  3. Also add salt and pepper to complete the seasoning.
  4. Mix everything well then place the chickpeas on a baking tray.
  5. Cook for 10 to 15 minutes at 180°C rotating heat, monitoring the coloring.
  6. 5 minutes before the end, you can switch to grill mode to finish cooking and grill more. All that remains is to enjoy your crunchy, crispy and fragrant chickpeas.

For spices, you are free to use what you like best and what you have in your cupboards. You can definitely add chili or even fresh herbs for more flavor. You can then eat these grilled chickpeas as an aperitif in a hot or cold version, but not only that.

It is in fact possible to use them as decoration on homemade hummus to give it more crunch or even to sprinkle them on your Lebanese or Oriental-inspired dishes for a touch of originality. We also love adding them as a topping to a nice mixed salad or even slipping them into a homemade sandwich at lunchtime.

In terms of storage, roasted chickpeas can be stored for up to a week in a clean, airtight glass jar.
