“QThe more insane statements come from Moscow, the greater our strength must be. Only our strength in protecting lives and our ability to achieve our goals can return Russia to a state of at least partial sobriety,” the Ukrainian leader said in a message on Facebook.
Zelensky said that “Russian madness must lose this war”, adding: “We will do everything possible for this.”
The statement by the President of Ukraine comes at a time when Russia is demanding advances by its forces in the east of the country in the face of Ukrainian defenses, which are facing difficulties in terms of weapons and ammunition.
More than two years after the Russian invasion, Ukraine hopes to soon hold a peace summit in Switzerland, according to the Kiev formula, but without the participation of Moscow.
Ukraine’s allies have sought to respond to the armament needs of Ukrainian forces, specifically through the Czech initiative to jointly acquire ammunition from several Western countries, but the main aid package, worth over 50 billion euros, is blocked for months in the US Congress due to opposition from the Republican wing.
Zelensky accompanied his message with photos of soldiers representing various brigades of the Ukrainian Defense Forces.
