O Prime Minister of Israel, Benjamin Netanyahu, will undergo surgery for a hernia this Sunday night, according to what his office explains.
Official sources, cited by Israeli publications, report that the hernia was discovered during routine examinations that took place on Saturday.
According to the same source, the head of government of Israel will receive complete anesthesia, and the surgical intervention will take place after the meeting with the war cabinet scheduled for today.
Israeli publications also say that Deputy Prime Minister, Yariv Levin, will take over Netanyahu’s position during his absence.
This is not the first time that the Israeli Prime Minister has undergone surgery of this type, as in 2013 he underwent an intervention of the same type.
Also last year, Netanyahu had a pacemaker fitted, a device that aims to help regulate the heart rhythm.
