Dand according to local sources, cited by the Palestinian news agency WAFA, at least one child was among the dead and dozens were injured.
The Israeli Air Force bombed the al-Khatib family’s home, killing four people, including the child mentioned above.
A second projectile hit the An Najjar family home in the same refugee camp, killing two people and injuring others.
In addition, two people died following Israeli attacks on Shuhaiya, in the eastern part of the Gaza Strip.
Israel also bombed other buildings in al-Mughraqa, north of Nuseirat, in the center of the Gaza Strip, and in the area of al-Mauasi, north of Rafah (south of the Gaza Strip).
The ongoing war between Israel and Hamas was triggered by an unprecedented attack by the Palestinian Islamist group on Israeli soil, on October 7, 2023, which caused around 1,200 deaths and more than two hundred hostages, according to Israeli authorities.
In retaliation, Israel launched an offensive in the Gaza Strip that has already caused more than 37,000 deaths, according to Hamas, which has controlled the territory since 2007.
In addition to these deaths, more than 520 Palestinians were killed in the West Bank and East Jerusalem by Israeli forces or in settler attacks.
The conflict has also caused nearly two million people to be displaced, plunging the overpopulated and poor Palestinian enclave into a serious humanitarian crisis, with more than 1.1 million people in a “situation of catastrophic hunger” that is claiming victims – “the highest number ever registered” by the United Nations (UN) in studies on food security in the world.
