Between tensions and emotions, the Restaurant War of Top Chef 2024 promises to be full of twists and turns: here is what we can already reveal to you

There are certain Madeleines by Proust that we never tire of. The Restaurant War in Top Chef is one of them. If we were recently able to witness the legendary black box test, this new episode of Wednesday April 24 promises to be even more memorable. This week, the candidates will have to face a major challenge: create their own restaurant in just 48 hours. And believe us, you’re going to have to hang on!

The Restaurant War is often the test most anticipated by candidates. Many dream of opening their own restaurant after leaving the show. We still remember, for example, the Philo Saucisse by Wilfried, Mickael and Arnaud in 2022. This event is therefore a preview but in an accelerated version. In fact, each group of three will have to imagine a restaurant concept from the menu to the decoration and bring it to life in just 48 hours.

It will first be necessary to seduce thanks to the decoration and the frontage of the establishment since the candidates will first be judged on this. The establishment which is the least visually convincing will not be able to welcome the jury to have their card tested. We will therefore find a duel between the two restaurants which have won the most votes on the decoration. Then, everything will come down to the menu and the dishes tasted. The jury will vote anonymously to elect their favorite establishment.

At the end of this vote, the candidates who have not won the test will have to compete in one last chance and one of them will be definitively eliminated from the competition.

Many issues which will only increase the stress of certain candidates, who will also have difficulty tuning their violin. This is the case, for example, of Pavel and Valentin, two participants of the Orange brigade, two cooks coming straight from Marseille with hot blood as shown in this video shared on the show’s Instagram:

This year the pressure is reaching its peak because for this anniversary season we have to find something new. The production has decided to rely on a 100% unique jury which will undoubtedly surprise the candidates. We obviously find the brigade chefs accompanied by the culinary critic François-Régis Gaudry but that’s not all… The candidates will also be judged blind by a member of their family or a friend! Indeed, each candidate will be represented by a relative who will test the different restaurants in order to elect the best, even if it means voting against the establishment of the candidate they support.
