Ingredients
- 1 kg of ripe blackberries
- 1 kg of sugar
- 4 tablespoons of lemon juice
Preparation Mode
- Clean the blackberries and remove the stems.
- Place in a glass bowl, add the sugar and let it macerate. Preferably the day before.
- Place in a copper pan and add the lemon juice.
- Place over low heat and let cook for 10 minutes.
- Remove and strain through a sieve, separating the syrup from the fruit. Reserve the fruit.
- Return the syrup to the heat and boil for another 5 minutes.
- Remove, add the fruit and let it cool.
- Return the sweet to low heat and let it cook for 5 minutes.
- Remove and let cool.
- Repeat this operation two more times (remove the foam that forms during cooking with a slotted spoon).
- Place in sterilized jars while still hot.
- Cover only after it is cold.
Mom Tips
Serve as a base for pies, sweets, or on toast, bread, biscuits.
Approximate jelly yield is 400 grams.
