O tragic collapse of a building in Badalona [Barcelona], Spain, claimed three lives. It is now known that these victims left three children orphaned.
One of the fatal victims was a woman in her 40s. She had two daughters, and they had no family living nearby.
According to 20 minutes, the woman is from Eastern Europe and has two young daughters, who were at school at the time of the tragedy. The two of them stayed at school until later that day, as no one showed up to pick them up.
Another of the victims is a 30-year-old man, who had become a father just over a month ago. Mother and baby had left the building moments before it collapsed. “They were saved for 10 minutes”, said the local mayor.
Remember that the building that collapsed had been built 65 years ago, but there is no record that it could have suffered damage.
