Ingredients

  • 3 egg yolks, sifted
  • 3 egg whites
  • 1 and ½ cup (tea) sweetener for culinary use
  • 5 tablespoons light margarine
  • ¾ cup (tea) of natural orange juice
  • 2 cups (tea) of wheat flour
  • 1 tablespoon of baking powder
  • Orange slices with peel
  • Mint Leaves

Preparation Mode

  1. Grease a round baking dish and set aside.
  2. Preheat the oven to medium temperature.
  3. In a mixer, beat the sifted egg yolks with the sweetener and margarine.
  4. Whisking constantly, add the orange juice, wheat flour and yeast.
  5. Add the egg whites to the dough and stir gently.
  6. Transfer the dough to the baking tray and bake for approximately 25 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the cake comes out dry.
  7. Remove from the oven and let cool.
  8. When serving, unmold the cake, sprinkle with sweetener and decorate with orange slices and mint.

Mom Tips

When sifting only egg yolks: place the egg yolks in the sieve, pierce them and let them drain. Do not scrape the sieve from the bottom or top. Whatever remains in the sieve (films), discard and throw away.
