This recipe based on feta and egg is perfect for an express meal or for a complete breakfast. We tell you everything you need to know about this new preparation that has invaded social networks !

Behind this trend hides the gluttony of a culinary journalist: Grace Elkus. When she wanted to make an egg taco recipe from the book “I Dream of a Dinner” by Ali Slagle, the cook had to improvise. Indeed, realizing late that she was running out of potatoes, she decided to replace them with a block of feta that she had in her refrigerator. Result: the recipe is a real success!

After sharing his taste discovery to his community on TikTok, it is the revelation. The recipe never ceases to be emulated and its video even accounts for nearly 10 million views in a few days !

It only takes 2 main ingredients to make this viral recipe. We particularly like to make it for breakfast because it only takes 5 minutes to concoct it. Here are the proportions for one person:

  • 40g of feta
  • 1 egg
  • Black pepper
  • Chilli flakes (optional)

It is also possible to vary the pleasures by adding a little pesto. To make a “feta fried pesto egg”, just add a spoon when cooking the feta.
