UA fire that broke out at Hospital Independência, in Porto Alegre, Brazil, forced the evacuation of 58 people, including 50 patients, on Monday.
According to the newspaper G1, some of the patients, who were bedridden, were placed on public roads until they could return to the hospital safely.
There were five patients inside the hospital unit, intubated in Intensive Care, where the risk of fire was lower than removing them from the place.
The flames reached units 4 and 5. Patients hospitalized in these areas were transported to other hospitals in Porto Alegre.
An hour after the alert, the fire was under control, causing no injuries.
Authorities are now investigating the causes of the accident.
