Benjamin Netanyahu explained during a meeting with foreign diplomats in Jerusalem that Israel’s war against the Palestinian Islamist movement Hamas “is not a local battle”, adding: “If the Middle East falls into the axis of terror, Europe will be next”, said the Israeli prime minister, according to The Times of Israel.

Likewise, he stated that it is “a great battle between civilization and barbarism” and that “the axis of terror is led by Iran”, which includes Hamas, the Lebanese Shiite movement Hezbollah “and their other henchmen”. .

In this sense, he indicated that the so-called “Axis of Resistance” — an alliance formed by Iran’s partners — wants to return the Middle East and the world “to a dark age”.

“They seek to undermine and derail any progress towards peace,” he concluded.

More than 10,000 people have died in the Gaza Strip since the Israel Defense Forces began their campaign of attacks to respond to attacks carried out by Hamas on October 7, according to the Ministry of Health of the Gaza Strip, controlled by the Islamist movement, which reports the deaths of more than 4,100 children.

The information released by Hamas, an organization considered terrorist by the European Union (EU) and the United States, has not been independently confirmed.

Palestinian authorities also increased to 155 the number of Palestinians killed in the West Bank and East Jerusalem, caused by fire from Israeli forces and attacks by settlers, since October 7, when Hamas carried out attacks against Israel that left almost 1,400 dead and more than 240 people kidnapped.
