UOne passenger died and more than 30 were injured this Tuesday morning on a flight that left Heathrow Airport, in London, United Kingdom, bound for Singapore, which was hit by “severe turbulence”.
“Singapore Airlines flight SQ321, operating from London to Singapore, experienced severe turbulence during the route. We can confirm that there are injuries and one fatality on board”, read a post from Singapore Airlines on its social networks.
The Boeing 777-300ER was meanwhile “diverted to Bangkok”, having landed in the capital of Thailand at 3:45 pm local time (8:00 am in mainland Portugal), reports the BBC.
“Singapore Airlines extends its deepest condolences to the family of the deceased,” the note read.
The airline also highlights that it is “working with local authorities in Thailand to provide the necessary medical assistance” to passengers.
The plane was carrying a total of 211 passengers and 18 crew members.
