The product affected by this recall is butternut squash from the Bio Village brand, sold throughout France by the piece at E.Leclerc. The products were marketed from 10/18/2023 to 10/21/2023.

The batches concerned bear the following references:

  • GTIN: 3564707126984, Lot: COP J 18 with packager code EMB 29259L
  • GTIN: 3564707126984, Lot: COP J 19 with packager code EMB 29259L
  • GTIN: 3564707126984, Lot: COP J 20 with packager code EMB 29259L

Only products bearing packager code EMB 29259L with batches COP J 18; COP J 19 or COP J 20 are affected by this recall.

Chlordane is a phytosanitary product that has no longer been authorized in France since 1998. It is classified as potentially carcinogenic by the United States Environmental Protection Agency.

Consumption of products containing chlordane residues can lead to neurological, hepatic and immune disorders.

If you purchased a Bio Village brand butternut squash from E.Leclerc between October 18 and 21, 2023, check the batch number and the packager code. If your product is one of the affected batches, do not consume it.

It is recommended to return the product to the point of purchase for a refund. You can also contact consumer service at the following number: 0800865286. The recall procedure will end on November 11.
