A dish of Afro-indigenous origin that cannot be missed on your menu! Very tasty!

Ingredients

  • 1 kg of peeled and medium-sized pumpkin
  • 300 grams of minced dried meat
  • 2 large onions chopped
  • 2 crushed garlic cloves
  • 2 tablespoons of olive oil
  • 2 beef broth cubes
  • ½ cup (tea) of water
  • 1 tablespoon of sugar
  • Black pepper to taste
  • Salt to taste
  • ½ cup chopped green chilli powder

Preparation Mode

  1. Soak the meat for 12 hours in a container of water in the refrigerator.
  2. Change the water 5 times to remove the salt from the meat.
  3. Dissolve the meat cubes in ½ cup (tea) of water. Reserve.
  4. Drain the meat, bring water to boil and add the meat.
  5. Let it boil for 30 minutes, drain and set aside.
  6. In a large pan, heat the oil, sauté the onion and garlic until they are transparent.
  7. Add the pumpkin, dissolved meat broth, cover and cook until the pumpkin softens.
  8. Add the reserved meat, sugar, pepper and salt.
  9. Saute for 15 minutes.
  10. Remove from the heat, place in a refractory dish and sprinkle with the green scent.
  11. Serve.

Mom Tips

When purchasing, choose vacuum-packed dried meat. Dried meat must be dry! Don’t buy it if it looks like fresh meat, very soft and juicy. Therefore, dried meat is much drier than jerky and sun-dried meat.
