Rice pudding with Cocada


  • 2 cups of ready-made coconut flakes
  • 2 cups of rice, washed and drained
  • 4 cups (tea) of water
  • 4 cups of milk (tea)
  • 1 and ½ cups (tea) of sugar
  • 2 cloves
  • Cinnamon powder for sprinkling

Preparation Mode

  1. In a pan, over medium heat, add the water, rice and cook until the water almost dries.
  2. Add milk, sugar, cloves and cook until thickened.
  3. Remove from the heat, add the coconut and mix.
  4. Place on a platter.
  5. Sprinkle with ground cinnamon and refrigerate.
  6. Serve very cold.

Mom Tips

You can replace the cloves with cinnamon sticks.

Approximate yield of 10 servings.

Rice pudding with brigadeiro


  • 1 can of condensed milk
  • ½ tablespoon of butter
  • 3 tablespoons of chocolate powder
  • 1 cup washed and drained rice
  • 1 liter of hot milk
  • 2 cups (tea) of water
  • ½ cup (tea) sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla essence
  • 2 egg yolks, sifted

Preparation Mode

  1. Leave the rice to soak in water for 2 hours.
  2. Pour into a pan and cover.
  3. Cook over low heat until the water evaporates.
  4. Add the hot milk, sugar and essence.
  5. Cook over low heat, stirring occasionally, until the rice is cooked and creamy.
  6. Add the egg yolks and cook over medium heat, stirring for 2 minutes.
  7. Pour into a medium ovenproof dish and set aside.
  8. In a pan, over low heat, mix the condensed milk, butter and chocolate powder.
  9. Stir until it boils.
  10. Pour over rice, mix and serve warm or at room temperature.

Mom Tips

Do not use chocolate.

Approximate yield of 5 servings.
