Russia accuses Kyiv of attacking the market to raise awareness in the US

According to Nebenzia, Kiev decided to carry out this attack taking advantage of Antony Blinken’s visit to the country, which was accompanied by two new US military assistance packages, including depleted uranium ammunition for Abrams battle tanks, which have not yet arrived in Ukraine.

“We have no doubt that this was done with the expectation of providing the moribund regime with yet another dose of weapons and financial injections. The disgusting provocation in Bucha in April last year was invented using the same scheme”, added the Russian representative at the UN.

The town of Bucha gained notoriety in the early stages of the war, after Ukrainian troops managed to expel the Russians who, according to Kiev, had massacred the local population.

Ukraine located several mass graves in the area, but Moscow has maintained that it had nothing to do with this episode.

Ukrainian authorities on Wednesday accused Russian armed forces of being behind an attack on a market in the town of Konstantinovka, located in the Ukrainian-controlled part of the Donetsk region, in which 17 people died and more than 30 were injured.
