Most are stuffed but this one is different! Adults prefer pizza-sized sprouts; Children prefer them individually. Either way, it’s delicious!

Ingredients

  • 1 cup (tea) wheat flour
  • ¼ liter of milk
  • 1 pinch of salt
  • 4 eggs
  • 5 tablespoons of butter
  • 6 tablespoons of sugar
  • 4 apples

Preparation Mode

  1. Clean, peel and chop the apples into thin slices, covering them with sugar.
  2. In a frying pan, heat 3 tablespoons of butter.
  3. Add the apples, shake the pan so that the apple slices are well coated in the sugar and butter, until they become almost transparent.
  4. When they are cooked, remove and leave to rest so they can taste.
  5. Prepare the dough by placing the flour, salt and eggs in a bowl.
  6. Mix well until the eggs have fully incorporated into the dough.
  7. Add the cold milk until you get a homogeneous dough, almost thick in consistency.
  8. In a frying pan, add a little of the remaining butter and let it heat up well.
  9. Pour in a portion of the dough.
  10. When it starts to harden, spread a portion of apple and place a portion of dough on top.
  11. Let it cook over low heat, shaking the pan a few times so the dough doesn’t stick.
  12. Flip the pancake, brown the other side and serve while still hot.

Mom Tips

The stuffed pancake can be made in individual portions or in a large frying pan/pancake maker; a single pancake (panquecão).

Serve by sprinkling the pancake with sugar and cinnamon, with a scoop of ice cream or a little apple compote.

Approximate yield of 6 servings.
