A recipe with a great source of energy. Healthy bars with wonderful consistency!

Ingredients

  • 200 grams of unsalted butter
  • 200 grams of demerara sugar
  • 200 grams of chopped dates
  • 300 grams of oat flakes
  • 2 tablespoons corn glucose
  • ½ teaspoon of baking soda

Preparation Mode

  1. Line a baking tray with parchment paper. Reserve.
  2. Preheat the oven to 160ºC.
  3. In a pan, place the dates, baking soda and cover with water.
  4. Boil for 5 minutes.
  5. Drain the dates and reserve the broth.
  6. In a blender, blend the dates with 3 tablespoons of the liquid. Reserve.
  7. In another pan, stirring constantly, melt the butter, sugar and glucose.
  8. Remove the pan from the heat, add the oats and mix.
  9. Transfer half of the mixture to the pan and press to level.
  10. Spread the date puree over the top.
  11. Cover with the remaining dough.
  12. Bake until golden.
  13. Cut into squares and let cool in the pan.
  14. Let cool completely and then remove from the pan.

Mom Tips

Oats and demerara sugar can be found in health food stores.

If you prefer, you can add dehydrated strawberries, raisins or chopped dried cherries.
