Sweet potato: A tasty treat that complements your everyday meal; It cannot be missing from your menu. Between the fried English potato and the fried sweet potato, don’t hesitate; choose sweet potato. It’s dry and tastier!


  • 2 large sweet potatoes
  • Frying oil
  • Salt to taste

Preparation Mode

  1. Fill a large bowl with water. Reserve.
  2. Wash the potatoes.
  3. Peel them and wash them again.
  4. Cut the potatoes into 1 cm slices.
  5. Rinse the slices under running water and place them in the bowl with water.
  6. Heat the oil in a deep non-stick pan or frying pan.
  7. Remove some slices from the water, dry with paper towel and place to fry.
  8. Fry until golden on both sides.
  9. Repeat item 7 and 8 until all potato slices are finished.
  10. Drain on paper towel, season with salt and serve immediately.

Mom Tips

The sweet potatoes should be soaked in water while you fry some, so they don’t darken.

There are four types of sweet potatoes being sold in Brazil. They are classified according to the color of their pulp. In this recipe, yellow potatoes with a sweeter flavor were used.

If you prefer, cut the potatoes into cubes.
