A The French National Anti-Terrorism Prosecutor’s Office (PNAT) requested the preventive detention of the two suspects, according to the AFP, which did not identify the source of the information.

The investigations “continue to clarify the connection(s)” of the two suspects with Abdesalem Lassoued, a 45-year-old radicalized Tunisian, who killed two Swedes when they traveled to support their national football team.

The attacker, who was the subject of an extradition request from Tunisia more than a year ago, was shot dead by Belgian police the day after the attack, on the 17th.

Following information “transmitted by the Belgian judicial authorities”, the PNAT opened an investigation on October 17, 2023 into the criminal association of terrorist criminals.

Last Thursday, four people “likely to be linked to the perpetrator of the attack” were arrested in Loire-Atlantique, Maine-et-Loire and the Paris region, PNAT reported.

Only two people were present before an investigating judge today. The other two were released from police custody.
